Project overview
Compleat Food Group acquired a new unit and required dedicated storage areas for both chilled and frozen products. Norvek was appointed to deliver the scheme on a turnkey basis, taking the whole scope end to end and acting as CDM Principal Contractor for the works.
Norvek coordinated and delivered the full cold store package: the delivery and positioning of two self-contained refrigeration units and one self-contained freezer unit, together with three 32A three-phase power supplies sized to serve the equipment safely and reliably.
Ventilation systems were installed to dissipate the heat generated by the refrigeration plant and maintain a safe operating environment. A new fire alarm system was installed within the unit and integrated with the existing fire alarm system serving the main building, so detection and alerting operate as a single coordinated system.
As CDM Principal Contractor, Norvek took responsibility for planning, managing, monitoring and coordinating the construction phase, including the statutory duties and health and safety management that role carries.
All installed systems were tested and commissioned to confirm full operational and safety compliance, handing over a completed cold store unit with the power, ventilation and fire protection provisions needed for day-to-day use.
